This is a song that i've been listened to lately. Once again, it's Colbie Caillat's song that blew me away. I heard this song first time at Matahari, Tunjungan Plaza and in a sudden i'm fell in love with it. Colbie is duetting with Jason Reeves which make a stunning voice composition. So, this is it. Droplets! Enjoy it! I put the sing a long version here. Trust me, this song is really nice !
He mirrors her pain, but has different reminders. A mark above his heart on his chest that she left may have been a slap in the chest while fighting, maybe a playful love tap during the good times, maybe something else entirely. But whatever it is, it's placed there as part of his body and won't leave him. He, too, takes a lone walk but really can't escape from her. He says he's alone, but like her, is fully attached to her and her companionship endures even as he seeks solace and personal fulfillment outside of their relationship. Both of them fight against doubts of the other, but what is so true about the lyrics here is that they both suffer from those doubts only because of some kind of lack of trust. If only they knew that both of them feel identically about their situation. It would take a leap of faith, maybe less, but in some measure reconciliation is right in front of them if they just trusted each other enough to just say what they feel. They would discover so much connection and enduring love, but unfortunately, they wander for a time separately through their own emotions.
The songs ends without a conclusion, but we are left with an assurance that this couple will survive through whatever current trials they are facing because both of them speak the same language and the same hopes and fears. In a way, I find the song beckoning those of us in struggling relationships to now take a step toward each other, take the risk, and reconcile whatever wedges are in the relationship. After all, these relationships are so enduring in a way, that marks are left indelibly by those that love us that we cannot fully erase them, even if we insist that we walk on roads alone.
